It can be challenging, to say the least, to get the kiddos, with all there gear, snacks, towels, cooler, water bottles, ETC out the door to get to the pool. WHEWWW I'm tired just talking about it hahah. Here are a few hacks I discovered to keep me sane and get us out the door with less fuss and chaos!
These products are through my affiliate marketing partner, Amazon.
Great Swim Bag: We recently upgraded and snagged this new swim bag for this season (see link to the right). It's got lots of pockets, so we can keep it pre-loaded with the essentials: sunscreen, face stick, goggles, pool membership card. We also keep a designated snack bag that we ALWAYS take with us. I swear the lil guy will swim for 10 minutes and then need a snack! haha Also in the swim bag is a pre-loaded gallon zip-lock back with diapers and swim diapers. And of course, can you ever have too many baby wipes?!?!?
PRE-Apply Sunscreen: We SWEAR by this. Once we get to the pool, everyone is so excited to get in, that it's an absolute nightmare to try to get sunscreen on the kids (picture wrestling a greased up alligator) LMAO. Typically, we will use a spray sunscreen on their bodies and a stick on their faces/ears. Seems to be pretty hassle free if we apply in the garage on the way out the door or out of the back patio.
Accessibility to Swim Suits: The boys' swim suits are kept in their rooms in a designated drawer that they can easily access. This way when I say, "OK guys, go get your suits on!" They know right where to go. Rogan still needs some help, but getting to pick out his suit himself makes him feel empowered (and so what if he's wearing a shark swim shirt with pineapple trunks)!
By now, our 7 year old knows that when it's time to go to the pool, he's responsible for not only getting his suit on, but getting his water bottle, sandals on, and swim bag of toys. It still takes some reminding, but that's his check list to get out the door successfully. I discovered these cute little mesh pouches that they can load up with pool toys and be responsible for packing and carrying along.
